Snow, Snow go away!

I can't tell you how ready I am for this snow to go away. I know I should be greatful for the moisture, etc, but 7 months later, I'm ready to see it go! How about some rain????

This is what we woke up to this morning - about 8 inches of snow!
However, Hannah has taken advantage of the warm spring day to play in the snow. She and her dad built this snowman at lunch time. Then she wanted some ice cream to eat outside!
The other big news of the day is that Hannah will not be allowed to go to 1st grade in the public schools. Last year when I went to the school and talk to them about this whole situation, they said that they wouldn't make any exceptions for kindergarten, but would for 1st grade. So, I called yesterday to see what I needed to do to get Hannah enrolled in school. Today I finally got ahold of someone. The law states that a child must be 5 on or before Sept. 10th for kindergarten and 6 on or before Sept 10th for 1st grade. They cannot make exceptions to the law. We could enroll her in kindergarten and after 6 weeks the teacher and principal could evaluate her and then they could move her up, but there is nothing we can do until that point. So, we decided to keep her at Heritage for at least another year. It's not worth putting her through all of that! Poor girl. She did tell me that we wouldn't have to go thru anything to enroll her in 2nd grade (at the public school) that since she had already completed the required entry years (kindergarten is not required) they would except her into 2nd. Hhhhhmmmmmmm.

How great that you're blogging more recently! Hannah totally cracks me up with the ice cream outside in the snow w/ her great snowman. You're cracking me up about the snow.

I just hope that lady at the school knew what she was talking about this time and that when it comes time for 2nd grade it goes like you've been told...

Thanks too for everything you and Ed do for the college kids. What a huge job and you guys just seem to really have a heart for all of that. Plus everything else you guys do... Wow!

OHMYGOODNESS, I am completely baffled by the whole "But we would accept her into 2nd grade" thing. Come ON!

Yeah, I don't necessarily envy your snow at this point, but good job seeing the blessings in it. It reminds me of manna, miraculous and wonderful, but boring after a while. We humans are so funny about what we want! lol Down here in AZ it's more common to get bored of the sunshine ... and then God sends the monsoon. Oof, where's the happy medium?? !!
